Locality: Saratoga Springs Retreat Center property, Lake County, California (39.175091, -122.981744)
Abstract: The vascular plants of the Saratoga Springs Retreat Center property in western Lake County was surveyed in 2019 and 2021 by the authors and others with the California Native Plant Society Rare Plant Program to document the flora of the retreat center’s 200-acre property. Saratoga Springs is a narrow with low mountain ridges on the east and west sides, draining southward. This study documented 232 native and naturalized vascular plant taxa. A total of 127 taxa were vouchered during this study, to expand on the 12 voucher specimens collected previously in 1883 and 1923. Chaparral, oak woodlands, mixed conifer forest, and riparian habitats dominate the study site, with the retreat center facilities confined to the canyon bottom.
