Coastal sage scrub on low lying hills with 30 degree slope, south-southwest exposure in full sun. Associated plants: Salvia apiana, Artemisia californica, Dudleya pulverulenta, Eryophyllum confertiflorum.
Annual herb to 20 cm tall. Leaves, calyx, corolla are matt green prostrate to decumbent stems.
