Habitat:
Confluence of major washes among rolling gravelly hills; sandy-gravelly soil in wash and on banks; open microphyll/ desert wash woodland with Lycium andersonii, Condalia globosa, Parkinsonia florida, Senegalia, Larrea, Psorothamnus spinescens, Bebbia juncea, Olneya, Ambrosia salsola, A. dumosa, Baccharis sarathroides, Funastrum cynanchoides, Encelia frutescens, Perityle emoryi, Nicotiana obtusifolia, Porophyllum gracile, Caulanthus lasiophyllus, Descurainia pinnata, Brassica tournefortii, Brandegea big., Prosopis glandulosa, plus Cylindropuntia munzii & Fouquieria on dry alluvial slopes above wash.

Notes:
Fairly common annual on wash banks, usually in shade but also on open banks in moist soil; fls. pink with yellow throat.
