Gravelly bajada and gentle to steep rocky slopes of volcanic substrate (rhyolite, tuff), with isolated outcroppings of grayish limestone. Open scrub of Larrea tidentata and Ambrosia dumosa, with diverse array of annual including Plantago ovata, Chaenactis carphoclinia, Camissonia boothii, Lepidium lasiocarpum, etc.
Flowering & Fruiting
Annual, flowers ink, fading purplish. Common on rocky limestone slopes.
