Head of canyon near ridge top; loam soil; burned chaparral and coastal sage scrub with groves of Quercus agrifolia. Rhus integrifolia, Heteromeles and Quercus berb. skeletons and resprouts common.

Uncommon perennial on N-facing slope of sandstone ridge, shallow soil with outcrops. c. 100 stems scattered on slope, ± colonial. Fls. white, unmarked. Near 58”N. Fls. visited by syrphid flies and small bees.
