Steep SE-facing, rocky, carbonate alluvial slopes with exposed bedrock in places. Assoc. with Eriogonum nidularium, Senecio flaccidus ssp. monoensis, Encelia actoni, Salvia mohavense, Eriastrum diffusum, Caulanthus cooperi, Gilia cana, and Phacelia affinis.
