Flat open area; disturbed soil with many introduced berry bushes and grasses. Assoc. with Alnus rubra, Stachys rigida quercetorum, Sedum spathulifolium, Cytisus scoparius, Grindelia stricta platyphylla, Malva arborea, Prunella vulgaris lanceolata, Lupinus littoralis, etc.
