Decomposed granite on canyon bottom and sides. Desert scrub with Lepidospartum, Chilopsis, Populus, Baccharis salicifolia, B. sergiloides, Artemisia dracunculus, Bebbia, Pluchea sericea, Salix lasiolepis, Psorothamnus arborescens, Yucca schidigera, Opuntia echinocarpa, Eriogonum wrightii, Ephedra californica, Larrea.

Notes:
Scarce annual in shade on rocky N-facing slope; fls. lavender.
